# Blocking users

Stop someone using anything your studio sells.

## Block a user

From **Products → your product → Licenses**, use the block action on their row. Or add them directly under **Blacklists**.

A blocked user can't download, verify, or auto-update **any** product in your studio, not just the one you blocked them from.

## Blocking a group

You can block an entire Roblox group. Anyone in it is treated as blocked while they remain a member.

## When to use it

Reasonable grounds include redistributing your work, sharing keys, chargebacks after delivery, or abuse directed at you or your staff.

{% hint style="info" %}
Blocking doesn't refund anything, and it doesn't delete their license; it denies access while the block stands. Remove the block and access returns.
{% endhint %}

## Platform-wide blocks

Updatr may block a user across the whole platform for terms violations. That's separate from your studio's own list and isn't something you control.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://merithic.gitbook.io/merithic-docs/selling/blocking.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
